Tallinn Fashion Week 2013 - Tiina Talumees, Kristel Kuslapuu & Beatrice

If you have been following me on social media (@zerxza), you already know that this weekend was all about the Tallinn Fashion Week! Estonian fashion's biggest event of the year actually took place for 3 days, from 24 to 26th of October but unfortunately we couldn't make it to the first two days of the TFW due to school and other errands. Well, the luck was on our side for Saturday when we had the chance to visit some shows as well and in the end we were still very very happy to witness such amazing night. Unfortunately, we missed the gala of Kuldnõel (Golden Needle - the most prestige prize given to the Designer of the year) but we will definitely fix that problem next year!

The reason for our stay in Tallinn in the first place was the show by Tiina Talumees who is one of the most recognized designers in Estonia. For me in some parts of her design she reminds me of Elie Saab - only the modest Estonian version. Tiina's dresses are always filled with femininity, elegance and effortless chic vibe that makes you go WOW. So did it this time! I had only seen some pictures of the collection earlier and I can honestly say I didn't think that much of it - it was yet another pretty collection of simple dresses. But in reality - my breath was taken - so I can really say the pictures don't do justice this time. The models were perfect - strong, graceful and elegant - the make-up and hair was stunning and the dresses, oh my the dresses .. who knew draping can be so versatile?! I remember how one model came out with light green long evening gown and both Rauno and I gasped for air because she looked like a fairy princess. Simplicity in it's finest - the show was beyond our expectations and we didn't have to be disappointed for coming to the show!

After Tiina's show we were pumped up with all the beauty but we knew the next show is going to be something way different. In fact, the transition was so radical we almost fainted - next stop was Kristel Kuslapuu's collection of hand-knitted comfy clothes and oh my was that an experience filled with rather controversial feelings. Firstly, all the men outfits really truly made me go õah! For me, it was all a huge mess - too much going on at the same time, so in the end the poor guys looked as if they have been sentenced a terrible destiny of wearing that style. No guy should look like a Robin Hood or a .. well, grandma.

However, overall impression of the collection was not that bad! Some outfits worn by girls really gave that "ohoo" feeling - especially the "forest angel" in all white, finishing strongly the whole show. When looking closely you can see and feel the passion and very hard work behind those items - not to even mention, some of them were quite wearable. If you live in Estonia were it gets pretty much freezing in the winter, all you want to do is wrap yourself in a big pile of knitted sweaters! That's the part I loved about Kristel's creation - it was a true representation of Estonia itself - sometimes a bit messy but at the same time comfy, warm, colorful and so interesting that you can't even make your mind about it right away!

The finishing show for us was the show by Beatrice - a woman I've always secretly admired for her extravagant style and charisma. This collection absolutely filled my expectations! It was more than clothes, it was more like a piece of art - all the details, starting from the WOW-factor make-up and hair, finishing with shoes, tights or other details of the outfit, it all drew you into it, taking you to another world. You didn't know what to expect next but when the next model came out you could only be like "wow that's brilliant!" It was extravagant, bold, very sexy (talking about some peeking boobies here, yeap!) and a masterpiece of a truly talented woman who poured her heart and soul into the collection.
PS: notice all the tattoos on the models? The collection is inspired by Beatrice's tattoos and therefore all the models had some amazing tattoos on them!
PPS: Doesn't the dude remind you of Hugh Jackman (in his Wolverine days) ? :D
And of course I couldn't miss the chance of showing you Beatrice herself - in her finest, being amazingly radiant as always!

What did you think about these collections? Which one was your favourite? Did you visit/check some other collections as well? Share your thoughts with me! :)
