Winter is in the air ... Today, we were finally rewarded with first snow! Well, at least for few hours because it disappeared as quickly as it had come down .. but the feeling of Christmas approaching, cold air flying around and wanting to cuddle up in a blanket with candles spreading warmth and gingerbreads baking in the oven ... It's honest to sa I'm a bit excited!
Now when previous years I've always had piles of sweaters at home laying around, this year it's different since I'm learning the art of layering a bit more :) However there is one thing I could not be without in the winter - scarves. The bigger, the better! Scarves are my true friends but when I love them at the same time I'm rather picky. Since I didn't find that "one and only" that could keep me warm during those harsh months, I decided to knit one myself! I'm rather good at handycraft but due to hectic life I haven't really found a chance to create something myself recently. With this scarf I just pulled my motivation together and knitted it when watching movies and it got ready faster than I had hoped for - even though it's about 2 meters long! The satisfaction of wearing something self-made is amazing feeling and therefore, I absolutely recommend for you to make something yourself this winter! It's very easy, doesn't take much energy, you can do it while watching TV (and feel like you're still doing something super-good, not wasting time :D) and usually it costs less than scarves in the stores! Mine required 400g of yarn and it cost 7€ in total. From the stores, however, there is no chance to find a decent scarf for under 12€. Besides being wallet-friendly you get the feeling of achievement and that's unreplacable!
Have you ever knitted anything yourself? What was it? What do you think about handicraft and doing some items yourself? Share your thoughts!
