Stay Classy, San Diego

It seems almost serendipitous that two days before my high school graduation, Rebecca Minkoff, a local designer, states that her Resort 2013 collection is a return to her "San Diegan roots". When I am most nostalgic for the hometown I will soon be leaving (79 days until I move into my dorm, according to my college) it is wonderful to see a homegrown designer use America's Finest City as her inspiration.

The 18-piece mid-season collection focused on the surf and skate cultures of Southern California. Two-tone baseball sweatshirts, sleeveless leather vests, and effortless shift dresses dominated the presentation, all in oceanic-worthy hues.

It was a little more downtown than I go for, but I really did enjoy it and I felt that Minkoff totally captured the San Diego Spirit.

The polo sweater dress paired with knee-high boots creates a timeless fall look that feels both elegant and practical. It transitions effortlessly from casual outings to seasonal events. For anyone planning women halloween outfits 2026, this stylish combination also works as a chic base for creative, festive layering and accessories.
